Can you go into more detail as of why please as its one PHEV sitting on my shortlist. I already own the petrol version.

That’s terrible especially when the AP was so high.
Did you have a good test drive before you chose it?
Can you connect your dislike of it to your disability and ask Motability to change it?
As Kezo says, what is so bad about it?

What wrong with the vehicle
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

AnonymousJeeperz..thats a strange one..hope you find some way around this
October 30, 2023 at 4:52 pm #240828definitely contact motability as you are so early on into your lease, they’re great. I had a VW Tiguan 2.0 DSG R Line ordered Feb 2021 and was Delivered Nov 2021. Come Winter 2022 and start of 2023 I had this continuous fault and it was confirmed and a 5 month wait for repair (unreasonable) a known fault (travel assist unavailable pinging every 30 seconds on hours round trips) and a backlog for replacement parts, anyway Motability and Dealers had conversations and agreed that I could hand the car back and get something else, I was in Dealers loan car, so I went back to what I knew a Ford Kuga but this time the ST Line X and I went back to a manual as my previous Kuga was a manual (non motability car).\
Anyway fast forward I have been diagnosed with a medical condition ontop of others that is giving me great difficulty driving a manual especially as I drive 2 hours per day term time, its been exhausting. I have only had the car since March 2023 and had to pay a £250 exit fee to start a new order/application which I processed the very next day (a week after informing them they told me to test drive cars then go back and process the cancellation) which I did.
Still got an 8 month wait for a new car, so will be using the Kuga minimally or asking the OH to drive as he usually does weekends but my god! the difference I have gone for a VW Golf same engine/ transmission/ bhp as the Tiguan and I can confirm the drive is much nicer and comfortable compared to the Kuga, didn’t I notice how stiff it was on the way home from the test drive, Made sure the golf didn’t include the travel assist though! Definitely contact them and explain.
Edit- forgot to add test drove a Kuga PHEV it was loud and jerky and I was asked to rate it out of 10 by the salesperson and I gave it a generous 7 which she said was low. I told her I didn’t like it. clearly. I also test drove an Audi A3 and the 1.0 115bhp is too slow for me A roads to B roads to Dual tracks but im pretty rural and have minimal road for overtaking tractors so needed something quick- ish.

October 31, 2023 at 10:29 am #240959@Martinod sorry to hear that it’s the worst car you’ve had. What is the problem, is it a faulty car or is it the way it drives?
I have had mine since April 2022, it’s been a fantastic comfortable car I’ve been on numerous trips to Scotland, across to Wales and down to London a few times. I have a wall charger, solar panels and batteries so I find it economical to run. The distances I generally do are local so rarely have to charge until I return home, I generally get 33 – 35 miles to a charge, in the summer I even got 37 miles on a few occasions. When I’m on a long journey I tend to put it on auto and let the car work out when it wants to go into EV mode.
I got the Ultimate with the Tech Pack and have just had it serviced at 20,000 miles without any problems. I have enjoyed using all the various safety features especially the forward and reverse auto parking feature you can use with the key fob. I have used it it four or five times to get out of spaces where people have parked too close so it was impossible for me to get in.
Like all the others have suggested I would contact Motability. I did have a Kona EV before the Tucson Phev but due to personal reasons with my wife needing a wheelchair and oxygen canisters the car was too small, I contacted Motability who were sympathetic to our problem and let me change to the Tucson.
Hope you can get it sorted. If you have any questions about the car please contact me. Take care

What its economy like on a run?
October 31, 2023 at 5:08 pm #241045@Kezo the best I have had is 45 – 46 mpg on my long runs. It would have been good if the EV range was better. I am jealous of Oscarmax’s Suzuki, that would have been the ideal EV range for me. I originally was looking at the RAV 4 Phev but they took it off the scheme if the Suzuki was on the scheme at the time I may have gone for that especially after reading Oscarmax’s reviews.

TBH, I think the Across is the way I’m heading at the moment. You do miss out on some of the nicesties like ventillated full “fake” leather seats but, you retain heated seats all round. With 300+ bhp and 6s 0-60 I bet it shifts to 🙂
October 31, 2023 at 5:52 pm #241059Unfortunately I am no longer a fast driver so 300 bhp is wasted on me, however it comes in handy joining a busy motorway slip road or going up steep hills towing a 1500kg caravan.
We did look at the Tuscon PHEV Ultimate lovely car but could only tow 1350kg so discounted it, still happy we went with the Across shame we paid £6999 AP, it went down £1700 in October 3rd Quarter to £5299, but that life.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
October 31, 2023 at 6:05 pm #241062I think Martinod has run off, Thankfully my question wasn’t a life or death situation ??

I can take most of what you have mentioned. \
The interior is made to budget and typical of Korean cars. The soft touch has thing foam behing the faux leather on the doors etc, however its not fell apart yet with my boistrus daughter. The road noise at 60 – 70mph can be dronning. The top notch Krell stereo is far from the best in class.
The haptic controls below the infotainment screen I find are a pain at times and the bings and bongs get on my pip!
More importantly, if it hurting your didabled side driving it, don’t suffer for 3yrs! Speak with Motability and explain how its affecting you and likely to make you suffer more in the longrun. Its good enouth health reason to request an early termination. I’d also mention you were only allowed a short drive up the road and back 🙂

AnonymousMartin thats awful an no way its a rant, it is genuinely and valid faults. Especially the background noise will drive you nuts. As advised dpeak to mb and get another motor. I remember your name from 3 years ago somehow…my short term memory is blitzed as well . I’m sure mb will sort it out for you
November 1, 2023 at 9:02 am #241165I agree the vehicle does not suit your disability, may be the Mazda CX-60 would better suit your needs.

The Mazda might be rough as its a firmer ride and not as much under thigh support as the Tuscon. Also possibly a Hybrid maybe better with his charging situation.
November 1, 2023 at 10:51 am #241183Martin mobility are good when it comes to a vehicle not suitable for your needs. They even waived the 250 fee for me.
Best thing you could do is try a and find a suitable stock car are you will be stuck with the current car for between 6 months to a year waiting on a new build car.
Remember even an extended test drive will never be close to having and using the car everyday.
My first car was returned after about 3 months due to not being able to use the clutch. The only thing they were fussy about is whether you had a test drive which you did. Also I would just stick to the ‘now not suitable for my disability’ excuse and say nothing about the other stuff. GL

SteveI have the Tucson Phev as well. Its ok, underwhelming is more to the point. For such a big body there is surprisingly little room in the car. It certainly isn’t a 5 seater. With the dog in the boot the shopping has to ride on the back seat – setting the alarms off. If you are 4 up a nightmare
It drives ok and performs ok. No way as good as the previous Leon’s I had. The 190 bhp DSG estate was absolutely brilliant, no matter what you did it was a constant 50 mpg, roomy and comfortable.
One of the benefits, I had hoped for was the saving from regenerative breaking and idling toping up the extra battery as I drive but no it is always around 12% charge. Even on full charge, the range is around 35 miles but runs down very, very quickly.
The problem is there still isn’t much choice for bigger SUV’s
November 3, 2023 at 8:30 am #241486For such a big body there is surprisingly little room in the car. It certainly isn’t a 5 seater.
However, Its still only a C segment crossover/SUV and probably one of if not the biggest in its class. The looks are also very deiving when you look at how big the arches actually are compared to the doors.
I purchased 2 seatbelt clips for the back seats to stop the Ding Ding….
November 4, 2023 at 7:58 am #241621
SteveThe rear seat belt sockets are a bit of a faff – they sit in little sockets, which when you are sat in the back are fiddly to reach.
Talking of buying things to overcome issues, I had to buy a tray to fit in the over large armrest bin. Otherwise things just got lost in there, £12 from Amazon on a £44,000+ car !
One thing I do find making getting in and out easier is that the driver seats slide fully back when the engine turns off – if you can remember to turn it off!
