I understand this question may perhaps annoy some people, however, just a thought.
My car is set to end on 21st november, no car currently ordered. None suitable / cant afford, they wont let me extend. If I were to order a car with a large wait time, could I change my order mid-wait if a suitable vehicle came on the scheme at all?
Hope that makes sense
Thanks

In my humble opinion prices are only going one way!! But as stated in huge numbers of posts, you are not committed to the vehicle until the pin is entered.
November 13, 2024 at 1:43 pm #293222I’m just thinking the current e5008 is over priced. Just wish it was £1k cheaper and it would be swallowable. Seeing alot of deals on electric cars at the moment so just hope someone comes in with a nice deal on the e5008 lol
November 13, 2024 at 2:39 pm #293225A perfectly reasonable question and the answer is ‘yes’.
If your order a car and the AP drops before delivery, the dealer can adjust it for you, but check before you order that they are happy to do this (most are but some can be ar@#holes 😂).
If a car that you prefer to the one that you order comes on the scheme, simply cancel and order the new one.
It’s better to do the above (assuming that there’s a car on the scheme at present that you want) rather than hold off in the hope that APs will drop. The trend in APs has been upwards for around 2 years now and I don’t see that changing. If the APs go up you are protected, but if they drop you can do as suggested above, so there’s nothing to lose. If, however, you hold off and APs rise, you have absolutely no choice but to pay the higher price.
November 13, 2024 at 3:52 pm #293228you can change your mind when ever you like its only once you eneter pin you cant
November 13, 2024 at 3:53 pm #293229there is one in the deals page i think it was 400 of the e3008 and 5008

Yeah I factored that in to this post, if it were more close to £1000 it would be better haha..
What if I cancelled my order and the time was past my new lease date? How long would Motability give me to order a new one?
November 13, 2024 at 3:59 pm #293231if any use cupra offering a grand of cars
as for how long is anyone’s guess but as they d extend leases to 5 years id say you have some wiggle room with a 3 year old car and dont forget if under certain mileage you can extend your lease look on your account to do that its simple
November 13, 2024 at 4:19 pm #293232It’s worth keeping in mind that the automatic ability to extend leases to 5 years no longer exists. To extend to 5 years your car must be either under 20,000 miles (after 3 years) or have adaptations. That being said, if you stand your ground (as I did) they will back down.
November 13, 2024 at 4:22 pm #293233thats why i said do it on the account as on some accounts you can still do it but dont know if they shut that route down yet. mimes available to extend and over 20000 now but its funny as already had 2 year extension lmao

They will still grant one month extensions for anyone, but they have a rule that once you’ve accepted an extension you can’t ask for a second one. Thats why folk should never ask for one month or even one year extensions, but ask for two years. That way you have up to 2 years, but you can still order a new car at any time. I got them to agree to a 2 year extension but in the end I ordered a new car one month later!

They had me off big time then! They said they could only do a month max haha.

Yes, that’s the new policy now. I got a 2 year extension, even though the last car had no adaptations and had done 28,000 miles, because I took them to task over the policy change. Whilst they are quite at liberty to change their policies, they cannot vary the terms of a lease without consultation and giving the lease holder the right to terminate without penalty. Prior to the policy change, leases contained a clause saying that leases could be extended. When I pointed all of this out they backed down. However, some people have managed to still get 2 year extensions online as the system hadn’t been updated 🤔
November 17, 2024 at 12:13 pm #293444Looking like I am going to go for the e-Berlingo, e-Rifter or e-Combo. Need to properly go through their reviews / specs etc before I do. Probably going to be waiting forever but that works for me.. Hopefully the e5008 drops a few grand by then lol. Won’t hold my breath. My lease is up on 20th November so leaving it very late.
Would they want to install the charger in now or close to when the car is delivered?
November 17, 2024 at 12:32 pm #293445Have a look to see if there is anything you like that may be due a facelift/redesign as these are the cars that tend to drop in ap and also seem to get offers on.
November 17, 2024 at 2:14 pm #293452the e rifter and e berlingo are recently facelifted and look quite decent, albeit their lower specs for the 7 seater versions for some reason..
November 17, 2024 at 8:45 pm #293479When you order your EV you are contacted within a couple of days by Ohme to begin the charger installation.
A simple install can be within a month.
All the best, I hope you manage to snag a good deal.
I think a year ago AP.S were high and they dropped a lot. Lets hope its the same this year. A lot of customers are struggling.
November 19, 2024 at 11:32 am #293563Just ordered the e rifter Peugeot in black. The 5008 was in the showroom and was unreal. Sad times
