      Hi sorry if this has been asked before;

      my motability car was hit by another car and they drove of. We don’t have any extensive proof. No cctv etc; the damage is quite bad. RAC said they might be able to fix it but my lease finishes in August anyway and I don’t believe they will be able to.

      could anyone help me to what will happen both if they keep the car for repairs and it goes over the 3 month. (Am I still aloud to choose another one beforehand for my next lease )  but also if it is wrote off. Unsure of the situation if the other driver is not identified

      any help is greatly appreciated. Thankyou in advance

        Most reputable insurance companies include cover to damage caused by uninsured drivers and the one used by Motability most certainly will, so I wouldn’t worry about that aspect. The appointed repair company will need to assess the car first. I doubt it would be a write off, but if it is they will determine that and you would be able to order a new car immediately and Motability would probably provide you with a hire car, as one of the claimed benefits of Motability is to ‘keep you mobile’. If the car is repairable and going to be off the road for a prolonged period you might be able to persuade Motability to let you order early, but August is a long time away and I suspect that the car would be repaired and back to you well before that.
