      Good evening everyone,

Basically had no space to manoeuvre and ended up dinging the front of the car attempting to get in a space (4×4 took up 3 spaces and left me with no where!) anyway the front paintwork is very slightly removed right down to the silver metal stuff and the plastic grill thingy is broken…this is despite doing under 1mph.

Im unhappy with a damaged looking car as I take care of them, what is the procedure in repairs? I am certain the front will have to come off and the grill be replaced fully.

Will i get penalised for this? What is the excess cost?

      Many thanks everyone

P.s….Am concerned about this as I have major surgery on Friday so not any time to sort things really, will this be an issue?

If the damage is minor they will likely try to dissuade you from getting it repaired. You can insist on it being repaired and will have to pay the excess. The excess will be stated on your policy documents.

I would prefer it be repaired as I take pride in cars I use. I think the excess is £100…what happens? Do i contact RSA and they send a courtesy car and take mine away at the same time or do I drive mine to the dealer I got it from and then drive away in a courtesy car? Not really sure how to sort it with an op on friday

Just give RSAm a ring and they will sort all for you.

As Joss says. RSA will appoint a repairer who will come to you to inspect the damage and deal with it and provide you a car. We had a small repair done on the drive once – they set up a tent around the car. Job done in a few hours.

Like everyone else says give the insurance a bell. Good luck with your operation aswell. ?

Have been on hold for a solid hour now, is this normal?
