As the gas /electricity are up again this month I’m trying to cut back cut down on

putting my heating on  it’s not winter yet but still it’s so cold I’m trying not to put the gas heating on as it’s going to cost a lot to run and electric plugs lights in rooms ect

i m so cold I’m putting jacket hoodie on I’m using a hot water bottle and staying fully cloths to try n stay warm

My brother has his heating on all day cause his wife’s not well and it’s costing him £15 a day

I’m looking at battery powered heated blankets throws  and and heated battery power jackets

not looking forward to the snow time

      any thoughts

Got my combi boiler either off or thermostat set to 15c.

Same as you I’ve taken to wearing a hoodie during the evening/night and thicker socks.

Watching the smart meter and trying not to go over a combined total of £3 a day, electric is around £2 and gas for whatever the boiler gets upto when it’s on but not used and with some cooking and hot water is still under £1 at the moment.

Once the heating goes on it’ll be a whole new ball game! 🙁

I’m paying £125 a month at the moment plus the £66 top up for 4 months, as long as I can keep it to under £6 a day with some heating I should be ok.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

My dual fuel monthly payment has just gone up to £280 per month. Prior to all this nonsense I was paying £86 per month.

I was paying £110 a month, due the Government scheme until April 2023 this has changed to £43.00 a month. Fortunately, I have still £860 credit after paying this month’s gas bill.

I need to work mine out on a spreadsheet I did a while ago, as EDF only bill once every 6 months rather than monthly which is prefered. DD is £180 month

Managed to mostly keep electric down to £2 a day, gas is around 40-50p depending on how much cooking I do.

My son has his central heating on constant at 19c but doesn’t use a lot of gas, he had smart meters fitted last Monday.  According to the in home display his usage for the last week was 27KwH electric and 1 cubic meter of gas (about 10.55KwH) which sounds low to me, I used 1.4 last week with no heating on.

I’m going there tonight so will make sure his heating is working, the combi is as we had hot water out of it at the weekend.

Now the colder weather is coming I can easily see £90 to £100 bills coming in the next months. Gas price have seriously dropped from 550 to 45 hopefully we should see a decrease in energy bill in April.
