Do many people subscribe to giving way to pedestrians per the updated highway code?

Another angry gesture from a fellow road user today 🙄 I sympathise, it’s not natural and has been terribly rolled out (if at all)

It is a bit vague isn’t it.

The concept of hierarchy of road users is fine, providing we all know about it.

If they are already on their way crossing as per the HC then yes i do give them time to cross.

 

I get annoyed if they look and are still on the pavement and see you indicating to turn and then still walk into the road that does annoy me.

 

Also teenagers in groups think they own the tarmac just lark about and saunter across and generally dont give a monkeys.

It’s horrendous here you not only have no pavements in most places but on top the pedestrians invariably are tourists with no common sense.

All those new rules were clearly written for urban areas with no thought to C roads

I avoid central Durham as much as I can for this very reason.

There’ a massive amount of students who wander about and seem completely oblivious to traffic, had 2 last week just walk out in front of me wearing massive headphones.  I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen them walk over a light controlled crossing well after the green light has gone off and traffic has started moving over it again.

Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
