Just a question those on long waiting times did the AP go down or up while waiting if it went down significantly did you try to get the lower AP.

I’ve never had the AP go down while waiting for a car but did have the car taken off the Motability list a year before the car was delivered.

From threads and posts here about members have had their AP’s lowered in respect of it going down else wise they stick with the AP on the order day if the AP goes up. If the AP is lowered while waiting for delivery you will need to contact the supplying dealer and ask them to reorder the cars as its not a forgone conclusion they will automatically lower it, In fact they won’t.

The AP is always  a gamble,  we are considering ordering our new car, a Qashqai 1.5 e-power Tekna , as our 5 years lease ends next year, we expect that there will be a 4 or 5 month wait.

Do we wait until after Xmas and see if the AP goes down or order it now and accept the current AP, the situation feels like a TV game show ?

I ordered my Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace 1.5 TSI Life Auto, on the very last day of Q3 this year which was a Saturday when the AP was £2,899. My thinking was, if the AP went down the next day,( the first day of Q4) the paperwork would be a lot easier to sort out. I asked the motability chap if he would do that and he agreed to re-do the paperwork if the AP was lower the next day. As it turned out the AP went up the next day by £500 to £3,399. Just have to wait and hope for a whole year now, with fingers crossed.
