The EX30 range will come with three different options: a Single Motor version with 270bhp and a 51kWh battery; a Single Motor Extended Range with 270bhp and a 69kWh battery; and a Twin Motor Performance with 424bhp and a 69kWh battery. The standard-range battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, which is more cost-effective and less resource-intensive to produce. It is also thought to be less liable to degrade over time. However range is more limited and the official figure is 214 miles. So more affordable, less range. It’ll be perfect for those of us who do regular driving and can charge at home overnight. The Single Motor Extended Range variant uses an NMC battery with lithium, nickel, manganese and cobalt, and produces its energy more efficiently than the LFP variant. More expensive but you get more range. The Twin Motor Performance version pairs that NMC battery with an additional second motor; and preliminary official figures are 298 miles for the Extended Range and 286 for the Twin Motor Performance.

Cant imagine this not being on the scheme at some point

        Looked at this tube report.

For me, it’s far too small in boot and cabin.

But for those looking st cars like the Astra or 208 it could do the job

Compared to the renault megan etec for example its slightly longer and a couple inches higher/wider

          A lot smaller boot/a lot faster 0 to 60/ more HP/Torque

Wonder what silly AP it might have?

Thats if /when it makes the scheme

          Strong guess it SOON will

However LFP batteries don’t use Nickel or Cobolt like NMC catteries do, and are seen as a safer battery!

Yup! it seems manufacturers are going that route.  The 2024 Mini EV will also be built in China, at the same plant the Ora cat is made, which shares many parts with the Mini!

If they put the twin motor design on the scheme, there shouldn’t be any reason why the mg4 Xpower won’t be on, as the volvo is quicker, higher top speed etc just a few grand more expensive ?‍♂️

My guess is that once driven the following reviews will hail the drive quality as it has the Smart #1 DNA

Not an ideal family size car imo but one I would consider if given the chance

There is no chance the twin motor one will come on to the scheme. We only seem to get the basic models these days.
