Hi
Went into my local ford dealer a few months ago to sign up for my first ever car on motability, as you can imagine the wait for a new car was long so we looked through stock cars and found one.
The car was in Holland and would take a few months to arrive, fast forward to last week the car had arrived and we needed to make a appointment to collect car sadly we were due to go on holiday the day after so couldn’t make a appointment… But the guy from ford also said he hadn’t completed the motability form correctly so he also needed to submit that!.
He said we would arrange something after my holiday when all motability checks would be done and the car would be ready.. so I return from holiday and go down to the dealership to be told the check had failed again stating a “hospitalised” market was present.. the sales rep told me to phone DWP and get it removed then phone Motability and get the check re-run if all goes to plan the car will be ready on the monday 6/9 or if not Friday 10/9 but then pointed out he has a holiday so could be the 11/9.. he pointed me in the direction of the car I have been waiting for that has now been sitting on the forecourt for 2 weeks.
Next day DWP & Motability have been called that was 2/9 thursday same day we text the rep asking him to check but get no response. Friday he responded with check ok collect the car sat 11/9.
Now we are not desperate for the car we do have the facility to borrow a car when needed so can make do but just don’t seem right to me like the guy just isn’t on the ball? How long should it take to register a car, valet and get insurance done? Isn’t someone else available to do these tasks while he is on holiday? Or is he just looking for a sale?
Never done it before, never even brought a new car?
