Hi. Which small hatchbacks (Polo/Astra size) come with an electric hand brake. My mother is used to this devise and now can’t use a manual brake. Vauxhall still do one on the Astra but that only appears to come with an engine that is too powerful her.

Nick, the gorgeous new Peugeot 208 has an electric handbrake. Engine size is 1.2 in either 75, 100 or 130 bhp.

Great thanks for that. I think my 90 year old mum might appreciate the 75 bhp option rather than the 130 bhp :-).

The problem is the nearest dealership is at least 30mins away – my mum wont like that (not with a Vauxhall dealer just down the road).

The 208 is very similar to the Corsa (they are built on the same platform and by the same company) so why (I think) no E brake on the Vauxhall?

          Any other options I wonder.

Thought you wanted the Astra not the Corsa?  The he Corsa has an ebrake option.

                Hi,

I can’t see any options for an electric brake the Corsa on Vauxhall’s website. Certainly the photos of the interior show a manual brake and there is nothing about an electric brake in the ‘Dirvier Assistance’ section when you use the online Built It tool.

Sorry Nick – I’d gone from the below video:

Could be worth checking with a dealer if they do have nay or it is something that’s stopped being an option.
