the nightmare at xmas, that gleaming new bit of tech could ruin your xmas lol.

have you got the right charger, batteries does it need a 4 hour update before you can use it?

my best ever xmas pressie according to my nephew was a bumper pack of varied rechargable batteries and charger. it saved xmas one year.

dont forget apple etc have started selling stuff without the necessary charging cable assuming that you are a die hard apple geek.

the new console my neice got last year immediately asked for an upgrade to be downloaded which took 4 hours, one unhappy niece lol.

      have fun lol.

          Same Mitch you’re not alone…

          however

I’ve changed a few iPhone/iPad screens, cameras, speakers and stuff for family members & friends..

I’m better at taking the stuff apart & fixing rather than understanding of controlling the stuff.

Just bought Mrs Ajn a galaxy tab thing for Chrimbo, shes a online gamer, uses iPads, phones, a old galaxy tab (will now be updated) running all at the same time ?, some war game she plays ?..

          ???

Only new tech stuff for Christmas was a web cam as my desktop does not have one. I rarely use my Galaxy tab now days. Other wish is for a Good proper camera.

ah that is my weakness joss, i have always had a decent camera.

still got a minolta 35mm film and their first digital dslr the dynax 7 as it was compatible with the 35mm lenses i had, more recently i have a sony a1 again because when minolta closed up sony bought up their tech and the a1 is compatible with the af lenses.

so i still go on hols with a bag of bodies and lenses no camera phone in sight.

i use a phone to make phonecalls and the cameras to take pictures. simple really lol.

Wouldn’t  dream of buying techy stuff for madam. I’d get it wrong. She needed a device to play music in bedroom and I searched for a radiogram small enough. Found one – a Ferguson – but it did not play the “new” type of records (Seedies?). Suspect that I may be receiving one of these new portable telephone appliances this xmas. Hope that it will be just a telephone and not incorporate a TV/coffee maker/fridge etc because I only need it if I’m out in car and need to tell people I’ve broken down.

And I certainly do not want a camera in it. Like you, @mitch I favour proper wet-film cameras. Not going to clog up this thread with details. Will post it over in “Interesting ‘stuff'” thread.

Nice snap, Mitch. That’s a very decent lens: little distortion at the limits and easily cropped out, I’m sure. That’s what I like about Pentax – their glass is very good and they understand why people want to use fixed focus lenses. Some of us actually enjoy composing a picture!
