I don’t have a dog but two of my children do and I am asked to look after them on a regular basis. I actually like having the dogs as it gets me out and about and the number of fellow dog walkers who stop to chat is amazing. However picking up the ? is a major problem DO YOU EVER GET USED TO DOING THIS?

The ? bags now come in a variety of colours so there are numerous dog walkers with pink, yellow, green, you name it, coloured poo bags walking about and they don’t seem to mind picking up the poo so maybe it’s just me ?

You do get used to it but never like it. Particularly when you mis position the bag and you end up getting a handful.

last winter a dog walker used to hold onto it as a hand warmer and I’ve know a chap who would squeeze it like a stress ball. It was hard to hold a conversation with someone squeezing a bag of dog poo.

Now I know the “turn the bag inside out” trick it’s a bit easier but still something I would rather not do.

Was at the park the other day and this lady had a Great Dane mix which was huge she said “you don’t want to see the size of its poo ? “ to which I agreed ?

Could be worse, I have no sight at all and have to pick up after my guide dog while we’re out and about. Very obvious when he’s stopped to drop 1 so it’s  bag on hand and fish around to look for it. Actually how unpleasant it is really depends on what you feed them. Use the complete food that you don’t need to add any meat to, just a bit of water, and it’s ok.

I don’t have a dog, but I hate seeing those bags tied to fences or branches, it’s so disrespectful.

Jo Jo we have a lot of bins dedicated to dogs poo so don’t see any of that here.

I haven’t had a dog for many years now, propably before poop bags became thing let alone miltiple colour bags. My next door neighbour has a dog and uses green food recycle bags!

What I hate though and for the life of me can’t understand is, at our local beach dog owners go through the efort of picking up the poo, baging it and then just leave it there on the sand?

Got the dog again today, which is fine, as the daughters away to the “Fringe” in Edinburgh. The weather is pretty poor as it’s raining just now and the forecast cast for thunderstorms all day.

So today not only do I have to pick up ? I will get drenched while doing it not to mention another half an hour required to get her dry after the walk.

The joys of doggie sitting ?
