Disqualification of Good condition Bonus

      Hello everyone,

I have had my current car for nearly 5 years now (extended because I am waiting for my new order) but was wondering what disqualifies you from the good condition bonus?

We’ve managed to keep the car in fairly good condition (0ne place where the paint has chipped away probably the size of a 50p coin) and the alloys are a little bit chipped too.

Would this not allow me to get the good condition bonus? Would it be worth it to get sorted before giving the car back?

Sounds to me as though you would have no issue at all with your GCB Hayley. The minor damage that you describe would be deemed fair wear and tear. The assessment is made by the dealer who supplies your next car, so if you are worried you can always ask the sales person that you are dealing with to look the car over now. Some people have posted photos on here of what I would deem to be fairly significant accident damage, yet they have received their GCB. As I say, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.

The appraisal of Motability vehicles seems to be much more lenient than on the return of a Personal leased vehicle, where BVRLA appraisals are to ‘industry’ guidelines.

          bvrla.co.uk has the information.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I wouldn’t worry about it, we’ve had some right scuffs and scrapes over the years and never been denied the bonus. I think it’s large dents, deep scratches and broken glass that they are interested in. It’s a 5 year old car, it’s going to show signs of use.</p>
