Today my local Ford dealer informed me that he cannot now guarantee the previously agreed delivey date for my new Ford Puma. I immediately pulled out of the deal. This follows a similar experience with a Mercedes dealer that kept extending the delivery date for a Mercedes A Class that i’d signed up for.
I agreed to the lower spec Ford Puma Titanium because Ford Guilford told me that the vehicle was in stock & in their compound therefore the lead time would be only two weeks instead of December for a factory made car.
Initially due to failing health, which then led into the Covid-19 lockdown have been housebound since early January and i’m not kidding when i say that i am quite literally going nuts looking at my four walls week after week, month after month so for me delivery date for a car is far more important than even type of car, brand, colour, specification etc.
My advice to dealers is please don’t guarantee a delivery date if you cannot guarantee a date!
Now its back to the motability website for me to begin my search for a vehicle all over again.
Being that i’m terminally ill i’m now now not feeling confident that i will ever get behind the wheel of a car again!
