Just found out from my dealer lookers, that there will be a delay for both myself, and anyone on motability who has ordered the tech pack pro for the new Audi Q$ 45 etron in the last 6 weeks.

Here is the message he sent me.

AUDI STATEMENT

A component issue is affecting the surround view camera (KA6), which is part of Technology Pack Pro (WQF), on Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron.

To suspend further orders being placed until the situation is clarified and resolved, we will remove Technology Pack Pro (WQF) from SLI and the Q4 e-tron configurator pages on audi.co.uk at the close of business on Tuesday 31 October.

We are working closely with AUDI AG to provide an update as soon as possible on how this will affect any existing orders in the system with this option, and how long before ordering can resume. For any new customer enquiries or orders, please advise this option is not selectable at this time.

Orders with Technology Pack Pro will have extended lead times because of this component issue. You may wish to discuss the option of removing the pack from orders with your customers as it could reduce lead times, subject to no other restrictions impacting the order

Audi UK reserves the right to remove the Technology Pack Pro from demonstrator (OT05), showroom (OT06) and stock (OT07) orders if required to fill production.

Please continue to monitor Audi Hub for further information as soon as it is available.

Since receiving this message from Lookers, after further discussions, they have suggested that I will be looking at a delivery date now, of around 28 April.

Before this delay, they were hopeful of a mid- February to beginning of March delivery date, so if they are correct about the 28 April guesstimate, then this will be a delay of around 10/11 weeks now until the end of April, waiting on the missing (KA6) surround view camera part….

This may well be the case for anyone else who has ordered the Tech Pack Pro, although those who just ordered the Tech Pack instead seem to be fine….

Don’t expect any update now till February, which is fine.

 

April suits me fine.  Gives me more time for all things the deposit, plus tech pack pro, and convenience pack too….

 

And I ordered from Lookers in Ayr N.  I’m apparently the only order at the branch, with the tech pack pro.

 

So, just been unlucky with the part there now waiting on to complete the car.

 

If your ordering, and are either happy with the standard car, or just the tech pack, and not the pro version, you would be looking around late February, if ordered just now.

Update

Now, the Audi Q4 45 etron, is along with the tech pack pro, no longer offering the tech pack pack, (not the pro version) either, as it is no longer available either on the Audi Build A Car on the UK website…..

The normal tech pack was available as a choice up until yesterday, now removed this morning.
The Tech pack pro removed as a choice at the beginning of the month….

Hope this isn’t the start of the Audi Q4 being completely removed from Motability.  They seem to now be having a problem fulfilling all day to day orders, with the extras offered before, now gone….

My order apparently is still 100% guaranteed, thank goodness I ordered way before all this came along.

Hi David, the Tech Pack is still showing on the configurator, I think it is a glitch in the website as I had this problem before the Tech Pack Pro was dropped.  Sometimes neither would show but if you came out and went back into the website, perhaps via a different route, they would miraculously re-appear.  My dealership had the same issue.

I wonder if this surround view camera problem on the Q4 is just a UK issue or whether it is affecting European or even worldwide sales also.  I find it odd that the Q3, Q5 and Q8 e tron, to name but three, are all still showing Tech Pack Pro availability which appear to include surround view cameras.  It’s also strange that they still have the Parking Assist Plus option for the Q4 which includes 360° display.

If it was simply a shortage of parts, you would have hoped that Audi could install the bulk of the system in the factory, e.g. wiring, electronics and then the dealership could fit the missing part(s) once available.  Given the relatively high cost of the Pro option and the fact that the majority of Q4 sales will be via Motability/company car leasing, I would expect this problem would only affect a relatively small number of cars.

I heard from a dealership that they are working on a ‘Tech Pack Pro Light’ i.e. a condensed version with one or more functions, presumably including the surround view camera, missing.  It would be much better if, as in Germany and as used to be the case in the UK, they split the Tech Pack Pro option up to allow, say, the Panoramic roof to be sold separately (it’s not really ‘technology’ anyway).  I’m told they lump all these options together in ‘Packs’ as otherwise, every option variation needs to go through the NCAP testing programme separately.

Incidentally, David, the Q5 Tech Pack Pro option also includes an ‘Extended LED Interior Lighting Pack – multi-coloured’.  Did you decide to do without that in your order in the end?  Would have been nice to have it as an option on the Sport version, also tinted rear glass.

I know what your talking about regarding packs coming off, and going back on within hours.

Experienced this too.

And I had to settle for the ambient lighting in the front only.  Which was up to me, and it’s a compromise I’m happy to make.

Still quite happy I’ll be the only 45 version that has the the Audi 0000 with gecko puddle light, as they allowed this as an option for me, as I ordered the car 4 days before the 45 version came on to their website.

And this WAS an option for the previous 40 model.

I ordered a Q4 on the day the 45 was OKd – told to expect it at Easter – what’s the difference?

I was initially told I could expect delivery of my Audi Q4 45 version, ordered at the end of September , and they told me to expect it around mid February.

I had ordered the the tech pack pro on the day, and I’ve just been told in the last week I’m now looking at the end of April.  This has changed since I ordered the car when they told me mid February, and this all now down to a part they are waiting on.  This shortage of this part has added another 10 – 11 weeks on to my order, which is fine with me, as the 28th April, the date they have suggested it will now be, suits me better financially than February,  gives me an extra couple of months to find quite a substantial deposit, so I wait patiently, and hope the information have been given me is correct.  That’s all I can do.

So in Audi I trust, and let’s see if they are as good as their word.  Time will tell….
