There is a lot of knowledge amongst us, I exclude myself.
The COVID 19 is dominating the news:
How worried should we be?
Will this be Spanish flu proportions or just another contained outbreak as SARS and MERS were?
Oh – and when will we start to see ‘Just in time’ manufacturing suffer?

Mike11Sam foster the nurse who did the first Oxford jab this morning
January 4, 2021 at 3:45 pm #134647Looking at the basic arithmetic. Assume that the population of the UK is 66m; assume the NHS manages to to 2m jabs a week, then we are looking at an absolute minimum of more than eight months for the vaccination programme. I admit the figures are basic and take a simplistic view. But at least one of them is accurate and the other a decent guess. Govt estimate was quoted (ITV news) at 3m per week; now seems to be 2m a week (BBC News). Obviously, all 66m will not be jabbed but the overestimation could cover it when things go wrong and cause delays. Except that couldn’t happen, could it? Nothing ever goes wrong in the NHS and even it it did it would not be their fault.

Southamman20:00 tonight, Boris is talking to the country, to impose a full lockdown.
Thank you to all the morons who think they are immune to it, for buggering us all

Mike11Well said totally agree with you
January 4, 2021 at 7:23 pm #134668There’s no shortage of people with natural immunity.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8968265/Are-25-immune-Covid-19.html
But I guess it’s easier to vaccinate the whole population than to identify who they are and let them go about their lives.

Me too
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Try telling that to the families who lost loved ones
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
January 4, 2021 at 7:46 pm #134673Tell them what, Oscarmax? There’s nothing you can say to people who’ve lost loved ones, whatever the reason for their death, but the reality is without some co-morbidity 99.995% of people under 60 survive infection and up to a quarter of the population are never even going to catch the virus.. Absolutely, the government should do everything it can to help protect vulnerable people from risk of affection but shut down schools, deny people healthcare access, cause serious increases in domestic violence and suicide and shut down the economy? Really?

RICHARD WAITESAlways be wary of an article from the Daily Mail!
January 4, 2021 at 9:47 pm #134694When the journalist is quoting official sauces, Richard? Rather than criticise the paper you could check if the quotes were true. I did..
January 4, 2021 at 9:57 pm #134695Predictable and correct action. Priority is now to administer vaccines. I feel we shall see more lockdowns worldwide .
January 4, 2021 at 11:15 pm #134702let’s celebrate another lockdown 3.0 this time, till at least after easter or june / july imo.
What is madness is trying the same thing over and over again that did not work in the first instance and blaming the people any people who disagree with the agenda put in place. Seasonal does that.. brings it to all to an end and there was no plan and still is no real plan as to how when this will all end this time this season. That’s because it never will end. Till the agenda has moved so far forward it can never go back to how it was.
Welcome to the brave new world people. where you are so scared you may die of something.. Nothing is safe anymore. What about key workers are they not at risk. Infact are they not human at all..
How easy the masses of the people sing to the tune of the pied piper when it suits them, blaming others for messing it all up for them.. like brexit it’s all their fault for voting for it… will a 3rd lockdown work when the 1st two did not really work and our borders are open to all.. Since the histeria started, based on science thats corrupt. but any other info is misinfomation.
lets not forget the nhs whom sent covid cases into care homes and it’s not just there also in hospital transmissions outbreaks and if you die withinn 28 days of a positive test then you are a covid death regardless of your other conditions.
Have a stroke catch covid in hospital and die from that stroke it’s covid and once again we where we are again..
Now we can blame xmas, i know blame the 1 day my daughter spent at school today or the one’s she ain’t spent in the last year(now) not seeing their grannies as they both in very high risk groups.
Day by day they both get frailer from life and i have this feeling we won’t get to actually see them again in the flesh and thats what they want, and what you all want and are crying out for to happen, begging for it to happen… Again and again.
The wish has been granted of the msm and the elites and their followers. like NS at that wake not wearing a mask, i am so sorry. or that scottish mp who been charged today for back in sept travelling on a public train knowing she had covid and many others.. Even advisors to sage. They have not exactly led by example is it because they know it’s all a hoax and slipped up and got caught out but yeah lets blame the people for this all..
January 5, 2021 at 7:55 am #134708
jamesgNow that they have shut the schools it opens up venues for the roll out of the vaccines surely?
January 5, 2021 at 8:15 am #134709
Mike11Very good point James in fact comment of the day imho

RICHARD WAITESIts strange Wigwam that you think an article which repeatedly uses words like ‘could’, ‘should’, ‘evidence suggests’ is concrete evidence. ‘Best guess’ evidence is not sufficient.
January 5, 2021 at 8:53 am #134711It’s strange Richard that many people believe what the government media machine tells them, rather than the facts published by the very same government:
January 5, 2021 at 9:02 am #134713
RICHARD WAITESOh dear, no doubt you think this is all part of the ‘great reset’ and next you’ll be telling me to go and google Agenda 21 etc etc. Failing that we could all just do our bit and ensure that as few people as possible die whatever percentage of the population that may be.
January 5, 2021 at 9:11 am #134714I have just had an idea?Lets Hibernate! only to be woken when it’s your turn to be vaccinated.

Mike11That’s a great idea Joss but I would miss wigwams daily Mail quotes
January 5, 2021 at 9:17 am #134717I wish I was as naive as you seem to be , Richard, I’d sleep better at night. When you are presented with facts, you stoop to insults.
I was going to post some more Public Health England graphs alongside the government’s manipulation of them, but it would be a waste of time.
January 5, 2021 at 10:03 am #134723Mike11, the Daily Mail is just one newspaper reporting PHE data. If you don’t like it because it’s in the Daily Mail, Ty this:
January 5, 2021 at 12:15 pm #134745The strategy going forward will need to balance a number of issues and differing priorities and factor in a number of possible variations to current events but above all it should seek to deliver a robust timetable of events, a fallback position and evaluate if additional action in required whist at the same time continually evaluating the data in relation to a number of key factors, their tends, both nationally and locally. I believe this is the correct way forward.
January 5, 2021 at 12:20 pm #134746Yup. That’ll work fwippers, or is it a sign we’re all going mad?
