Condensation in head/taillights on BMW i4

Is there anyone else that has noticed some condensation forming in their headlights or tailights in colder temperatures on their i4? I have taken the car to the dealer and even with some condensation they are not willing to replace or fix the issue under warranty which is very frustrating because at certain times (usually nights) when it is 3-7 degrees it fogs up the headlight and makes it slightly more difficult when it comes to visibility at night, keep in mind I paid £1700 extra for these laser lights and they still refuse to resolve it.

This in an issue with any car with LED lights. They don’t emit heat so it gets damp at certain times. I had this on my ateca as well as the megane.

I noticed this a few times on my previous BMW X1. As @JMC says, the fact that LED lights don’t emit heat doesn’t help, as old fashioned lights used to dry them out. I mentioned it to the BMW dealer but it was one of those “it needs to be like it when we see the car” situations that almost all dealers resort to 🙄

Condensation is normal and not considered a defect and will clear on there own, when the conditions are right.

@Glosguy I saw bubbles/droplets of water inside the headlight, it didn’t look to be just normal condensation and when showing the technician in person he agreed there’s bubbles inside the headlight but when it was further investigated at the garage later in the day at warmer temp. the ‘master’ technician refused to authorise a replacement or fix because it had dried up by that time, it’s just frustrating how they handle these things.

BMW headlamps are rubbish when it comes to condensation. My 2014 5 Series that I leased privately had this issue as well as rattling from the Harman Kardon sound system. Funnily enough, the dealership in Kentish Town (which is no longer open) tried gaslighting me with the rattles but not with the condensation. Mechanic sat with me in the car and tried to pretend that he can’t hear a rattle. In the end, I got them to fix both issues to a satisfactory degree.

Get the hair dryer out and give them a blow dry.
