I rang autonetmotability insurance for a quote and they told me they will give a discount for the full no claim driving years , and continue to do whilst insured through them, but if after one year, you get your renewal and decide to move else where, you only get the one years NCB.
Does any one know if other insures who accept claims history letter, also work in the way as described above? or if they convert the claims free driving years into NCD on the renewal letter?
Many thanks

That doesn’t seem right, I wonder what the ABI would say about it!
Have you tried getting a quote from RSA, Direct Line, Esure or even an insurance broker and maybe pay a premium for the first year just to get your NCD, you can move over the following year.
When I had a Company car I had no issues getting claim free years turned in to NCD’s and taking them with me on renewal the following year, albeit that was a few years ago now. I’ll check my emails, but I’m sure it was either Direct Line or Esure I went with.
January 31, 2023 at 5:18 pm #208037They said it was them giving the discount not the actual insurer i think. Having spoken with Adrian Flux insurance they would turn claims free driving into NCD , and the price given is competitive .
January 31, 2023 at 5:25 pm #208038Myself33 just checked emails and it was Direct Line. Google ex company car insurance!
I have just been on Autonets site you quote nd must say site looks cheep reminisscense of one of those “no win no fee” sites. I also noted they they said they were an approved partner of the Motability scheme. I question that as they are not listed on the Motability scheme as one of their approved partners!!
I’m sure if they actually are someone will say 🙂

Adrian Flux is a reputable broker – If they have given you a decent price stic with them unless you can get it cheaper else where 🙂
February 2, 2023 at 12:56 pm #208257So just to update, u-k-insurance.co.uk brands Direct Line, Churchill, Privilege all accept claims history letter for NCD, whats better doing a quote online lets you select Motability for your NDC. if need be, you can select modification and just tick due to disability.
On like for like on the main things
Adrian flux want £484 , plus 500 on a claim
Churchill £312, plus 400 on a claim , and some other add ons included that you don’t get with AFFebruary 2, 2023 at 7:17 pm #208287Hi myself33 Have you tried lowering your excess – you premium will go up but normally not by much?
Other than that great news 🙂
February 2, 2023 at 8:26 pm #208291Yep 🙂 I know about that, but have not bothered till I go to buy, was just getting a couple of prices locked in for next 30 days.
Going to re do quotes on Monday as according to money saving expert website, 23 days before needing insurance is the best time to do, for lowest price

Cora BakerI read your post and comments as I’m planning to buy my (deceased) partners mobility car in the next week but can’t buy if I don’t have insurance in place. I was the sole named driver on my partners RSA policy and we’ve had motability cars for over 10 years. I’ve had scary prices quoted for insurance (around £800-900) due to trouble with the ncd aspect as I’ve had to give 0 years ncd. I tried Churchill online, they wouldn’t let me proceed with a quote online because I hadn’t already bought the car! Direct Line’s quote was over £900 and nowhere, on any site, was I able to find an option for NCD Motability. I’m still waiting for a quote from Adrian Flux which is currently my last hope. Putting in ‘ex company car’ didn’t help either with the prices quoted. RSA only say that they ‘may’, not ‘will’ provide ncd proof and I might have to try to get that from their Data Protection office for a small fee. Nothing is straight forward these days.
February 13, 2023 at 8:14 am #209108Just had a bit of a shock, with renewal coming up I’m faced with keeping my current Ateca for another 2 years, which I’m not keen on due to poor grip in the wet and no grip in snow etc., paying out £2-£3,000 on a replacement or buying something private.
Anyway, I was looking at a 2015 Yeti, went to check on insurance and with only 3 years no claims (idiot in a transit ran into me in 2020) the cheapest I found was £650!!! And that’s assuming they accept Motability’s NCB. I had a brand new Yeti from 2017-20 and that was under £400.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
February 13, 2023 at 8:21 am #209109Just a thought as it was on PCP and the leasing company, not my insurance, made the claim off the other drivers insurance does that still count against me? I’m assuming it does 🙁
