Agreed, and despite our own preferences, we can be objective.

Absolutely fwippers. It really does amaze me when members post in depth reviews of numerous cars, not just one but many they have test drove prior to choosing the right one for them

This forum saved £250 pound discount for me off the AP, mentioned it to the Volvo dealer, he said YES and awarded it…?

Not sure now but I think it was BigDave posted the info..

My husbands current lease expires May so started to look and oh dear !! Haven’t really looked for three years 🙁

We currently have the peugeot rifter but OH finds it ”throws him around” a lot on journeys etc.

We need – low AP certainly not over £1000, automatic, boot space for lightweight power chair and space for something else to go in there as well, low boot height as I have to lift the chair in, lowish front seat height for OH to get in (leather seats but that looks like fantasy time at the moment). The Rifter seats are a fraction high, he manages but not ideal. We are at the bottom end of Cornwall so don’t have the choice of dealers as in some areas and I don’t want to have to travel miles for service etc. We do not do a lot of miles but what we do is on twisty country roads. Once a year trip to the airport if we’re lucky. Oh and not an enormous vehicle as have off road parking but its tight to get into in the summer when the world invades and blocks your drive !!

I have a small lightweight folding chair and it didn’t lay flat in the Hyundai Kona. I don’t know if the Bayon is any larger? Is the Kia Stonic the sister car does anyone know?

The Renault Captur and Citroen C3 Aircross might work?

All cars mentioned are below your budget.

There are a handful of BEV cars that might work for you as well. The Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe (boot might be too small), Vauxhall Mokka E, Kona EV (smallish boot), Citroen eC4 and the MG ZS. Again, all under £1k.

                  Best of luck.

Maggie, obviously Peugeot, but which other dealers are in your area, this might be the best place to start from as there’s no point at looking at cars you can’t get ?

I changed my scooter to a folding one so I could use a Kona ev. Boot is easily big enough for this and I also go a folding hoist to get it in and out. All for under a grand.

Last Car: Toyota C-HR Excel Hybrid...4 way 80kg hoist

We have Peugeot Kia Ford Citreon within easy travel and my prference, Seat Vauxhall VW SKoda also doable. I prefer to have the chair upright (and bungy roped) rather than flat as that takes up a huge amount of boot space, would go for a hist but that then adds more to the upfront costs. ( We do have a Jaguar dealership which my husband keeps pointing out !!!! 😀 😀 )
