Boot Hoist Lease Extension?

Anyone had experience of extending the lease using the adaptations clause?

Apparently if the car is heavily adapted you may be able to keep it longer. We are thinking of fitting a boot hoist, but at £1500 we’d probably want to keep the car longer, especially the way AP’s are going. We’re 6 months into a new lease.

You should be fine. Extensions up to 5 years will still be allowed on cars with less than 20,000 miles after 3 years, or with costly adaptations, so you’d qualify on the latter, if not the former.

            Hi Jojoe

Where are you getting the price of £1.5k for a hoist?

For a standard in-car 40Kg, 80Kg or 150Kg hoist should be around about £500 to £600 mark if you order the hoist when you order the car. If you order after delivery it could well be £1.5k though.

              Hi Chris,

Yes we already have the car and need to have it added. Would’ve been £500 if we got it 6 months ago when the car was new.

I’m no expert regarding adaptions and could be barking up the wrong tree but, I was under the impression Motability will help out and likely VAT will be applied to the quoted price, if you have taken delivery or you are allowed to order a new car with the said adapton?

@Kezo, there’s no Vat as it’s a disabled aid. They will only help out with a grant but we’re not entitled due to income / savings, they’d tell us to do one!

Aww, crap. Ruddy shame you missed the grant and it can’t be retro fitted.

It can be retro fitted, but at full price of £1500.
