MattSome of you might remember in May I ordered a fully loaded 3 series tourer.
Today I found out that they had forgotten to order it and due to it being discontinued they can no longer get me the car I ordered.
My current car is due to go back next week šĀ so I am now desperately looking through the list for a decent alternative – any suggestions welcome.

Is that car sales LieSpeak for: sold it to a retail customer for more profit ‘cos they really, really wanted that model?
Current: MY24 Renault Austral Iconic FHD.
Ordered 5/2/26: Chery Tiggo 8 'Summit' ICEPrevious Motability cars:
2013 Ford Focus estate auto.
2016 Vauxhal Zafira 1.4T SE Auto.
2019 Ford Kuga Vignale 1.5 auto AWD. (Ext lease)August 21, 2019 at 6:22 pm #85933
philjbAgreed itās doubtful they would forget.
It will prob be the following quarter the new 3 series comes on the scheme if at all.
Iāve been there, told the same I even made the rocky mistake of paying the full AP.
luckily I got it all back then bought a Vw as I needed something fast as it was our first car on motability and our old one needed big bucks spent on it soon.

AnonymousTake a look at the Mazda6. You’ll be very surprised and impressed. Gorgeous interior quality and drives beautifully. And the manual gearbox is sweet. We’ve had Beamer’s in the past and I’d count the Mazda in the same league.

AnonymousWe looked at the new 508. Gorgeous car but we ruled it out because for some reason it doesn’t have grab handles! My wife needs them to get safely into a car.

SaintsManThe new 508 is a beautiful car on the outside but have a look at some video reviews.

callmejohnAs well as the Peugeot 508 and Mazda 6 estates, you could also look at the Kia Optima Sportswagon, if you like loads of kit.
I have had one, the GT-Line-S for 10 month and love the car. Worth a look, especially if you need an automatic.

MattI think Confusicated is correct.Ā I had an order number and had it confirmed by Motability as well as getting my pin number.
I have been offered an alternative – X1 xdrive 2.0 x-line with Comfort Pack 2 and Technology Pack 1 and some other bits and bobs for Ā£3500 including the AP.Ā It seems a good deal but still going to have a look at other options.

AnonymousWe currently have an X1. Nice car but the Mazda6 drives a lot better IMO. Once we have the letter from Motability we’ll be ordering one. Ā£1600 AP for the Sport Nav+ gets you a lot of kit. If you’re into music the Bose Sound System is phenomenal!
August 21, 2019 at 8:37 pm #85947
MattThe Mazda6 is only available in automatic as a saloon – we need to be able to transport a couple of Labradors in the boot of whatever we get
August 21, 2019 at 8:40 pm #85948
AnonymousIf you need an automatic the X1’s auto box is very good.
August 21, 2019 at 9:24 pm #85952Matt – have you looked at the Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI SportLine Estate?
August 21, 2019 at 9:33 pm #85953
AnonymousThe Merc C Class Estate Auto is also on the scheme. The base SE model does have a decent kit list.Ā

martinothis really upsets me because it seams like a complete disregard to disabled people , What was there reason for forgetting to order the car i always think its just an excus , you dont forget when your job is selling and ordering cars, what compensation are they giving you for their error
this has happen to me twice last time (about three cars ago) the manager of the ford garage called me to say the motability sales man forgot to order my car i ordered a basic car the manager said he can give top of the one but there was and extra Ā£1800 to pay i said but it was your muck up and i cant a fordĀ the extra he said when you pick up the if you can pay what you can towards it because it would come out of there budget , i said i see how much i can get extra. when i collected the car i said sorry i couldn’t afford any more money, and got the car at no extra cost, the sales man could not even come and speak to me when i collected the car. Also i would complain to motability see if they can help ,

philjbI also had my PIN number and confirmation letter from motability and and an email from the supplying dealer.
Then I guess they sold the car and then the model was removed from the scheme.
The motability salesman gave me some BS about that particular brand new car had been recalled, but I could have another the same colour for an extra £2k
Some salesmen are just terrible.

philjbYes I now see the 508 has a lot of unhappy customers, so scratch that.
I didnāt like the X1, it drove ok, but being an ex rugby player and quite big I found the seats too small and uncomfortable, I have a lot of spine problems so not many cars are comfortable for me.
plus the demo car they gave me, didnāt have the seats I would have got if I ordered? They didnāt have a single car in stock with these seats. So I didnāt want to buy blind.

MattJust been and ordered a C-Class estate.Ā On consideration I didn’t trust the BMW dealer even though it was a good deal.
