      Hello Folks,

As the title suggests I was just wondering what price you pay for the blue badge renewal

Mines has always been just less the £3 although neighbouring councils have charged £20 for years

Will I went to renew mines yesterday and they’ve now increased the charge to £20

Im not complaining in any way, 20 quid is only 20 quid and over 3 years its not even worth mentioning

But I’ve heard of over councils charging even more

So I just wondered what you all pay

Mine runs out the end of next month so its in the system as I write.

I use the online method for the first time this time round as all the local council offices have closed down.

When you do it online there does not appear to be a way to pay but after a few days had an e-mail from my council (Bristol City Council) saying renewal has been approved but I need to pay the £10 upfront first.

I have no problems with that but would have been easier if I paid while making the application, still this way I know its in hand and on its way.

Your applying logic to the problem, not a good thing to do when dealing with councils. The same thing happen to me it took 15 minutes to get through to a person who could actually take the payment, I suppose it keeps someone  in work

I renewed mine at the end of March 2019. Could not do it on line for some reason. I just took all the paperwork and proof   required. Cost was £10.00. Slight change in the card holder as it now incorporates the blue badge and timer all in one. very handy.

That’s interesting that some of you down south are paying a tenner, my first 2 badges were a weird amount like £2.68 each

Im not grumbling about having to pay 20 now, it’s worth that any day of the week

Thankfully up in Scotland we don’t need to use the timer thing, we can park as long as we want without any grief

One thing I woukd like though is maybe for a second one, driving licence size that I could carry in my wallet just for those times I might need it, if I was out with a friend and went for an unplanned stop to a shop etc. Even just to show a traffic warden or leave on the dash

Like most my blue badge is always in my car but I don’t take it with me everytime I leave my house and go into a friend’s car, plans change  and you never know when you might decide to nip out and possibly need it

I know an argument against it might be it could be open to fraud, but that’s for the authorities to tackle not the average genuine user

We pay £10 in Leicester, and do it online without any problems.

I paid £10 last time but they took the photo for me. Did it at the local library.
