As of January 1st 2022 some EU countries no longer recognise the UK ‘Blue Badge’ scheme.

EU countries where it is now deemed advisable to ‘check ahead’ with their Embassies prior to travel are:

Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovenia, and Spain.

The British Government is still ‘in negotiation’ with these countries for continued recognition of the Blue Badge scheme.

I contacted the French and Spanish embassy and they hadn’t a clue what I was talking about really. I will be just taking my badge and using it as normal. If someone wants to pick a fight with a guy in a wheelchair, they’re welcome to.

Did you email or phone DumfriesDik, if email then you have some sort of proof..

However if you phoned no proof, and TBH I’d struggle with my Spanish on the phone if they rang me asking questions ?

I emailed, but they will not be of any use. They contained things like, apply for a pass at the city you are visiting. It was just hopeless.
