It depends where you are. Some regions are still taking far too long on reviews.

The Daily Star 19hrs ago unfortunately it’s behind a paywall, but may work if you accept cookies (I dont)
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed award reviews for people on Personal Independence Payment (PIP) are currently taking an average of 38 weeks, this comes after a FOI request was submitted.
September 15, 2025 at 8:45 pm #312674I’ve two people waiting on their reviews to be looked at and they are 5 and 6 months now. And my own was that long ago I can’t even remember when it was sent in.
But as Kezo says we have all had confirmation that they were received and that’s the main thing.

September 16, 2025 at 8:21 am #312680Irony. Just got a text there informing me it’s done and I should receive a reply within two weeks.
So about seven months I believe.
September 16, 2025 at 9:42 am #312684Mine was just over 12 months. Got the letter to say they had extended my current award as no decision had been made and then about a week later got the text to say review was complete.

@Kezo…install Brave browser, it does away with the cookie nonsense and the paywall stuff.September 23, 2025 at 11:55 am #312945That’s my award through and no changes. Same amount same time frame. How they expect someone to improve after a brain haemorrhage, 5 TIAs and two vasospasm strokes in the next three years is amazing.
Must tell my neurology team that the DFC are thinking I’ll improve in three years lol.
Also just done the switch over to universal credit this morning which was straightforward enough. Except for id verification which was sorted over the phone.

It’s beggars belief, on how they work and determine the lengh of different awards. My daughter, has never been awaded more than 5 years despite numerous letters saying her condition is life long and won’t change. She soons transfers to PIP, which will be interesting!
Anyway, you can put it at the back of your mind for now and hope next time they press the award GOM, you get a light touch AR2 award.
September 24, 2025 at 11:36 am #312983Mrs Joe is on a 10 year award. During her medical review when moving from DLA to PIP, around 9 years ago, the lady doing the medical said she would put a note on saying she shouldn’t be requested to attend in person again, sounds like a light touch review when it’s next up.
September 24, 2025 at 12:54 pm #312988The last two forms I filled in for people both got 10 year awards. 1. Epilepsy 1. Diabetes.
Brian damage and heart transplant at some stage = 3 year award. It doesn’t make sense tbh. But it’s one thing I never fret about as I know that I’ve a lot of medical evidence to back me up. So I’ll should be doing my forms again around the same time I’ll be picking my next car.
