Anybody have a new shape Tucson and can share their views?

I can’t even get to see one’s never mind test drive one at my local dealers.

Yes, I have a PHEV Tucson that arrived a couple of weeks ago on the scheme. Really enjoying it. Smoother ride than I was expecting. The interior is a significant upgrade in terms of look and feel even than my wife’s Kona. I’m coming from a Mercedes A-Class and, badge apart, don’t feel like I have taken a step down in terms of technology and user interface.

Happy to answer any other questions you have, if you’d like to ask.

We collected our ultimate PHEV a week ago, and it’s an amazing car.

We came from a mercedes E350D and was worried the Tucson would feel cheaper and be under powered.

But far from it as the build quality is very good, and the drive very smooth and comfortable. It really does not feel slow either as its nippy for a big car with a small engine.

Advance payment is very high on the ultimate PHEV but we feel its worth it for the spec, as not sure the lower spec or none PHEV version would make us feel the same. But we looked at what we lost in depreciation on our private owned E-Class over 4 years from New as that was £10k.

I ordered phev then followed Facebook phev page and found a few complaints about petrol particulate filter lights coming on with under 1000 miles and having to run motorway for 30mins or having to go to dealers if this didn’t work and not covered with warranty so if milage travelled low not good.had this with a Suzuki diesel so wouldn’t want again ..also thought it would have preheat being a phev but no so still had to run engine when cold

                Thanks guys. Interesting reading.

I’m trying to find a dealer who has one in the showroom near me but without any luck so I’m extending search a little bit to see what I can find.

@Martinod I too found the seats in the Hybrid firm when I had a test drive but managed to get a test drive in the Tucson Phev Ultimate later that day and found them comfy and much nicer. In my opinion I found the drive so much better in the Phev than the Hybrid with cloth seats. I did order the Ultimate last November and I will be picking it up in two weeks time.
