24hrs since I collected the Enyaq ! So far my initial findings are,
1. Lane keeping Assist – Pain in the bum, can’t be turned fully off without using ODB11, however on software v4 (new Models) there’s a shortcut on the main menu screen for it so 2 taps to deactivate it (until the next journey)
2. Advanced pack/Canton sound system. I paid the extra £2035 for the Advanced pack, the HUD, matrix headlights are both very good. Canton system not so much, poor bass and the subwoofer is barely noticeable. With a previous Honda CRV turned up it would give a feelable punch to the bass and even make the rearview mirror vibrate!. On the Enyaq all it does is add a bit more bottom end, even with the bass and subwoofer turned rght up. Certainly wouldn’t have paid over £2K for it if I’d had the chance to hear it before buying.
3. Exiting the car/Sound system. With my previous Ateca opening the door to exit would switch off the stereo saving your neighbours ears late at night!, if I remember correctly there was an option to have it turn off as soon as you switched off the engine as well. Enyaq doesn’t, it waits until you have left the car before switching off meaning the music is playing with the door open. Nothing major just means I’ll have to turn it down before getting out late at night!
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

I added a couple of USBC to C leads to make it easier, a 50cm plug to plug for my daughter to plug her phone into (she’s always got a flat battery! and a 30cm plug to socket for me to plug my USB stick into for music.
When I ordered the e-Pod the only options were 5 or 8m, as I didn’t know if they would install it where I wanted it (nearer to the car) which he did, I opted for the 8m which should be OK, if not I’ll order the 10m and sell the 8m.
As said above the charge flap is rear drivers side, same as my Ateca petrol was.

January 18, 2024 at 6:17 pm #255717I was able to order a 10m cable with my Ohme e-pod
It must be a generic one because Ohme only offer 5m or 8m charging leads, as others have said.
January 19, 2024 at 1:25 pm #255772Well, still no cable, rang Ohme and surprise! it’s not been sent out 🙁
Now supposedly being sent out urgently today, meanwhile car at 34% and I have to do a 20 mile round trip to take my daughter back to her mums 🙁

So it will be most likely Moday/Tuesday before you receive it, unless they pay extra for Saturday delivery, providing they stick to their word and actually send it out today. Disgusting service IMO!
January 19, 2024 at 2:21 pm #255778Can you not go to a public charger nearby?
January 19, 2024 at 2:24 pm #255780There’s a MER point in the local village, MER says 22Kwh, according to Electroverse and ZappMap it’s 11Kwh, one point occupied and the other is broken! I’d have to leave the car there for at least a couple of hours to get a decent top-up, and it’s 55pKwh so over 7x the cost of charging at home (night rate) or about double the daytime rate.
According to the Octopus/Electroverse map my local Premier Inn has 4 charging points, 43 to 50Kwh, according to Zapp and Google Maps they have 1 PodPoint at 3Kwh so didn’t bother doing the detour on the way home.
If the cable comes Monday it will do, I can stick it on for 2Hrs during the day for about £4 and get 15Kwh if I need to. I have to be in Durham Monday evening (6 miles each way) so should have enough remaining charge either way. Car back to the garage on Wednesday morning so hopefully get a charge or two Monday and Tuesday nights.

January 19, 2024 at 2:35 pm #255782Can you run an extension cable over the path with a granny charger, maybe put a mat or piece of carpet over the cable or feed the cable into your Kerbo.
Enyaq EV
January 19, 2024 at 2:38 pm #255783I don’t have a granny charger, I was going to fit a 16A commando socket outside if I didn’t get the Ohme charger installed.

I’m shocked Skoda don’t include a granny charger as well.
Would the supplied cable reach, If you revered your car on the pavement upto your fence for a few hours?
January 19, 2024 at 4:04 pm #255790Just measured up, with the bumper almost touching the fence it’s just over .5m short!
Don’t fancy taking the fence down so will either go find a faster charger Sunday afternoon when it’s a bit warmer or see how things stand Monday afternoon. If I need to I can always do 1Hr charge on the way to Durham, even at 11Kwh that would give me an extra 30 miles range or so.

January 19, 2024 at 4:12 pm #255792That’s an idea, not sure if I can get it close enough with the garden fence there. It’s a quiet cul-de-sac with no through foot traffic, I’ll go see if I can manage to reverse it far enough and try not to knock the fence down
Take one of the panels out, as tempory measure, if it doesn’t reach.
January 19, 2024 at 4:16 pm #255793It’s a hand built thing so not individual panels, we had to saw out a part so the cable will be able to go through it.

January 19, 2024 at 4:43 pm #255796Did the cable stretch to the car?
January 19, 2024 at 4:48 pm #255798Almost, it’s about .5m short of being able to plug into the socet 🙂
So, going by that the 8m should be long enough for normal use (when it arrives) so that’s saved me buying a 10m lead 🙂

January 25, 2024 at 12:25 pm #256229Well, that doesn’t fill me with much hope after ordering the Advanced pack with the Canton system! I thought it would be a great sounding system, all the Blurb & marketing portray it as a Hi Fidelity quality sound system, even the VAG video says it is!
I must admit, I didn’t listen to the system as the dealer had no cars in the showroom with it fitted!
I feel a bit deflated now, I was expecting something rather special, even though its in a car!

January 25, 2024 at 2:18 pm #256236I can’t find any detailed information for any of the Canton systems, let alone in the Enyak. However, the spec’s for the sub I believe to be 5″ in diameter, 2 x 8 ohm double voice coil and 200Watts peak, which in real terms is somewher between 130-150 RMS Watts (continueous power). Whils’t not head banging, it should be more than noticeable, especially with 600w peak power available across the system.
I still believe there is a power issue at the amp or a connection issue… Comparing the sound to another car, let alone a different model is poor. RMS voltage is the equivulent to DC voltage and can be measured by a multimeter, to give the approximate power. for example RMS value is 10V (ms) the power disipitated by that load is 20W.
January 25, 2024 at 2:33 pm #256238I would have thought also that 600w power amp driving a 200w subwoofer would give some umph!
Canton are renowned for the quality of their speakers so I would have thought that the system would be top notch.
Somethings not right I suspect! Maybe it’s the amp?

I think its a total of 600W across the board but I’m not sure plus there is a lack of specifications and unlike other automotive premium sound brands, that display the specs of each car they are fitted to – Canton does not exist, in that sense. Its a Skoda specific brand, with Canton somewhere under Harman international.
Canton HiFi speaker and systems, like B&O, Bose, JBL etc are excellent, but often slated in the automotive world, probably has due to them being owned by Harman international/Samsung
I agree something is either faulty or not connected.
January 25, 2024 at 3:13 pm #256252Well, went to see my friends son today, he’s a technician at a large VAG chain, had the unit out of the boot in under 2 minutes!. 6″ (15cm) driver in a plastic box in a polystyrene enclosure!, he reckons they are cheap Chinese rubbish, nowhere near as good as the older systems they used to fit..

I don’t doubt him but, did he get his multimeter out and do any testing or voltage measurements, as Chinese stuff still packs a punch?
