The mad thing is councils get millions in tenders from companies who buy the rags, electrical items, batteries, furniture, metal, hardcore etc that they charge us to dispose of.
our council was caught out dumping recycled waste in land fill as they had too much of it to store.
But they didn’t pay a fine for it.
As for fines when idling, I’ve only seen signs asking motorists to please turn off your engine in stationary traffic, no mention of any fines in my part of London
