Personally I agree about the power 700bhp is just unecessary but at the end of the day it is OUR money so if it’s on there and someone wants it why not? They’re not banned or anything it is our money after all, if I don’t go to Motability and go buy a V8 powered AMG and use Motability to pay for it is it really any different? Aside from paying for your own insurance of course.
Personally the near 300bhp in my Enyaq is enough fun without getting into (too much) trouble. 0-60 in 3.5 seconds in a big family car is just mad but horses for courses. Interestingly those prices aren’t far from the Enyaq 85x cost so definitely no issues with pricing for the scheme.
I’d take sensible dual motor power and the much longer range nigh on 400 mile range AND 360kw charging. Honestly charging at 350kw is getting to the point of similar time for filling a petrol tank from empty then going in queueing and paying, by the time you walk off get a coffee, drink it and go to the loo your car is charged to at least 80% that is amazing and I was really impressed with 160kw charging on my Enyaq.
I will definitely take a look at these. I was only looking the other day and presently on the scheme there’s nothing to rival the Enyaq for price/performance/space still and at present it’s not as good a deal as I got. Still halfway thru my lease soon so I do like to keep an eye out as many of us do I expect but the tech on offer is immense
