The garages are full of work. Even if they provide the worst service possible, people still will use them as there is no alternative to the approved dealership and their garages.
I would say the small number of approved garages is maintained on purpose, but I have no prove rather than my assumption.
Otherwise why the garages all together (Skoda, Mazda) will start charging £120 fees for checking the car and confirming it is faulty during the warranty period?
