If it were me – I would ring and speak to an actual person – I was unsure if you had managed to speak to someone or just received the letter.
I suspect if you do – common sense will out – once explained they can decide if they need it in writing.
I do understand your anxiety – your grandfather is lucky to have you as chauffeur and carers – I hope it is resolved soon.
