Hi again. Thanks for the help offered so far. My family are still trying to make a decision, our short list remains the enyaq (preferred) or the ID4, whilst we are keen to forward the imminent Q4 pricing list makes me unsure.. I seem to recall reading that sometimes the new pricing make it this forum before the 1st which would help me make the decision (if I can get the order placed intime?) I did try speaking to the local dealerships about cancelling if the AP moves in our favour (1x said a definite no and the other said the yes but the person was new to the role and didnt give me much confidence) plus this dealership doesnt have appear to have a very good reputation locally anyway.. The recent additional 5o0 contribution on the 85 edition obviously helps, but our ideal was for the 85x which isnt included in this offer. Thanks and any ideas or suggestions appreciated.

I would think the consensus of opinion hereabouts would be if you are happy to order a particular vehicle, to order it before the end of this month (i.e. now) at the current AP.

Whilst there may be a leak of the next quarter’s Advance Payments a day or two in advance, it is by no means certain that your chosen manufacturer’s AP’s will be leaked. Even if they are, you may not be able to get an appointment to order the vehicle this quarter.

It may also be the case, that in the dying throes of this quarter, the dealer has either sold all of their ‘build quota’ so they cannot order it anyway  or have sold enough to reach their quarterly targets, so would try to put the order through the following quarter (if this happens try a different dealer)!

Should the new quarter reveal a drop in AP of your ordered vehicle you have two options. Either ask the dealer to cancel and re-order (which hopefully they would). Or cancel in entirety and reorder at a different dealer. The maximum you would lose is a two  or three week position in the build queue depending on how quick you order it.

In any case should something magical appear in the next quarter you can always cancel and reorder.
