Back to the future. Our previous and first scheme car was a Touran SEL 1.4 dsg and suited my needs well. Current Allspace SEL has been excellent over 23,000 miles and was tempted to re order, but 9+ months wait and run out model from Mexican factory put me off. Went to dealer to see new Tiguan, but like Glos guy hated the tablet, interior plastic, poor spec and so so reviews. A Touran was lurking at the back of the showroom and once again ticked all the practicality boxes. The low loading height of the huge boot being increasingly important with deteriorating muscular atrophy. Match trim includes all desirable options and is a bargain vs SEL I am adverse to adding expensive options or packs to the now mandatory 3 year lease.
other cars considered: Tucson- good. Forrester, X trail, old Kodiaq. Non starters for various reasons. PHEV & Bev also non starters due cables. I have a charger and drive, but no thanks
