I love the look of the new X2 but suspect that the Q4 is the more practical car. If the petrol X2 came on to the scheme then that would be a dilemma, but I think that’s far less likely than the iX2 as BMW won’t struggle to sell the ICE versions to private buyers.

Agreed. An incredibly bad move. Why they have messed with what was the industry’s best infotainment system is completely beyond me. You lose the ‘favourite’ buttons as well, which is a fantastic idea that I don’t know why other manufacturers don’t copy. When I had the iX1 30e for the day there was only one area where it was an improvement on our 2021 X1 and that was the addition of Auto Hold. In all other respects I preferred our previous generation model. The i4 retains the rotary controller but I believe still loses the favourite buttons?
