Just had a test drive in Q4 etron will bullet point my thoughts in case it helps
positives
- it was comfortable heated seats were fantastic lots hotter than my current outlander
- the drive was comfortable and smooth and the big wheels absorbed the bumps in a country lane with ease
- the side mirrors are huge and give great visibility
- took me seconds to learn how to navigate around the dashboard information systems they were very intuitive to follow
- the maps and apple car play were excellent displaying on the iPad type screen and also in the driver display behind the steering wheel
- the steering wheel in the model we can order is the round version not the squared off version
- the boot is electric controlled from both the key fob and the button on the boot
- boot was large slightly squared off roof which loses some space but I guess that increase efficiency
- I was getting 3 kWh per mile around town and on dual carriageway which considering I was probably a bit heavy on the acceleration and braking while I got used to it I thought was great
- the navigation system automatically tells you if the journey you’re doing needs you to charge and gives suggested charging points along the route in real time. It also adjusts your journey arrival time to include charging
- Adaptive cruise control, lane assist auto wipers auto regenerative braking
- pretty nice sound system especially as the car being electric is so quiet so it’s not competing
- the staff were all superb with me
negatives
- the front seats although fully leather, lumbar supported and heated were manual adjusted and there’s no option to have electric adjusted fitted
- the rear window was not as large and clear as I’d prefer but I soon got used to it
- the seating position is slightly lower and more difficult for me to get into compared to my giant PHEV I have at the minute but I have to accept that this will be the case with any electric SUV I switch too
- I was told only the pebble grey colour was available for free which I quite liked so didn’t bother me but might bother some
- 17/22 weeks delivery
All in all a beautiful car and I think looking back at my car history ( Audi a3, 3 different Mercedes Benz c classes, a bmw m5 sport and a Land Rover freelander ) I probably have to accept that for whatever reason marque matters to me. I cannot see why I won’t be ordering it next Saturday.
