Im no electrician but Thinking being it may help to reduce the chances of condensation affecting the internal circuit board ( something Easee had no concerns with as they do not have the same circuit board set up) Sealing around wires or cables is a special headache all its own—gland nuts are specifically made to make a waterproof (or resistant, at least) pass-through for a cable, but they don’t necessarily prevent air slipping past, and air tends to carry water vapor with it. Main objective was one of belt and braces

When you look at the Easse one its a brilliant design, in that the circuit board is covered, then theres a inner cover that gently slopes backwards at the top, preventing water getting in at the top entry points and the outer cover design allows water to run away. The charge socket is facing downwards along with a bottom cable entry point if desired. The 22kW are very popular in commercial settings.

As you say Ohme have what is essntially a bare circuit board within a box so can understand your concern albeit they are adequately protected. Did the installer run a small bead of silicone around the box.

I think somebody had the same idea and selling for £30. You could buy some bins and sell your own design which actually looks better lol.
