@Markymate I did come across your thread and it was an interesting read, especially as you’ve owned both cars. I know Seat can look a bit cheap sometimes but I’d have to see one in the flesh to form my own opinion on that. Interesting about the ride being firmer and I guess 19″ wheels won’t help either.
Most of the time there are 3 adults in the car, sometimes more. We also go away a lot and have the boot full! Our current car is an X1 with the 2.0 turbo diesel engine so it pulls very well. Getting an even larger car with a 1.5 petrol engine is what’s been concerning me. But there was very little choice at the time for a car of that size with a diesel engine. We average around 40mpg in the X1 and I feel we’ll end up getting less with a 1.5 petrol.
All Seat dealers are being rebranded to Cupra and some cars are going to other VAG groups like VW and Skoda (according to a relative in the trade) so servicing shouldn’t be an issue when they do go.
