@GAMO as @RobJS has said, Ohme chargers aren’t smart enough for solar. Ohme wear doing beta versions through a software update to make them solar compatibe but, it was rather cluncky way and I believe they have stopped doing this now, as Ohmes website lists they arn’t solar comatible.

The other downfall if you like with Ohme#s chargers is they are eSim compatible only, in which Ohme provide 3yrs access only. After a 3 year period Ohme charge a monthly fee , to keep the eSim active which stops the charger from going dumb. Currently the fee stands at £2.50 per month (after 3yrs) Other brands of reputable chargers provide both eSIM and in some cases lifetime support and WiFi, so you can choose the best connection, ultimately not being charged a monthly subscription fee.

Of course the electrical supply industry has got you by the bollocks if you want the industy’s cheepest charging rates, namely Octopus and OVO. The choice of chargers is very limited as only Ohme, Indra and shortly Hypervolt home 3. OV) has more compatible chargers than Ohme does. However the majority of BEV’s are also compatible withOhme and OVO tariffs, regardless of charger manufacturer.

Not so long back Motability use to offer the Easee one charger, which you could add a relatively cheap module making it solar compatible. Not long ago Easee run into trouble with Seedens electricity board, mainly due to the inbuilt electronic RCD and comformity sheets. Sweeden proceeded to ban Easee chargers untill they had recified what were deemed faults. A couple of months ago Motability withdrew them as a option and is in the process of swopping those with an Easee charger to Ohme! I don’t know why as Ive installed my fair hare of chargers, Motability have done this. UK wiring regulations require an RCD fitting upstream of the charger and Easee swiftly updated its comformity leaflet. Neither are Easee chargers banned in the UK or any other European country, so I’m lost but, it was a better overall charger than Ohme’s, providing your BEV was compatible with Octopus or OVO.
