No one said getting rid of ICE cars on it’s own will suddenly end Climate Change but it will certainly help. Why do I get the feeling theres a sort of dependency bordering on addiction to fossil fuels going on?

I disagree with you, there are plenty who question man made Climate Change. But the evidence is there for all to see. We have governments who dont have the courage to make the decisions essential for our survival and though I wouldnt have put it quite like @Bertie at least he understands we have a catastrophe in making.

You’re right that there are whacky posts and conspiracy theories on this forum, non moreso than the idea we can pontificate about whether or not we ditch the fossil fuel habit. We are drinking at the last chance saloon and we shouldn’t be on different sides of the argument. We need to do whatever is needed to wean ourselves off fossil fuels, not just in the area of transport but in all areas of our lives.
It is time to face the reality that if we dont change sooner rather than later there is no future.That is the stark reality of where we are now.
