Well I’ve finally had the new windscreen replaced today and thankfully the fitting experience was far better than the booking one.

The very helpful and friendly fitter cheered me up no end by telling me that the car would be ready in 2 hours, not the 3 that I had been told when I booked. The crack has been driving me nuts of late, as with all of the sunshine the crack has been catching a blinding bead of sunlight right in my line of vision. The crack is also right across the middle of the Head Up Display and therefore distorting it. Anyway, all now solved and camera systems re-calibrated (the reason why it couldn’t be done by a mobile service).

Whilst killing time for the 2 hours I wandered along to a huge Jaguar Land Rover dealership and had a good look at everything. My God, the prices of everything now! There were around 10 Jags and 10 Landrover /Range Rovers in the showroom. Cheapest were around £60k, average was around £80k and at least 4 were over £100k. Perhaps no surprise that I was the only person looking! I have really grown to love the look of the new Defender and there are some really great looking colour combos available, although there was one outside in a sort of flat lime green ?
