Well, the obvious thing is that Motability Ops can demonstrate in its annual report and accounts that it is returning £525 million to its members. Could be quite handy for them should a select committee come poking its horns in again. It will also show a large rolling debit in its accounts (i.e. keep the rolling balance sheet lower).
Simply knocking £750 or whatever it is off the AP doesn’t have quite the same ring as demonstrating it is returning hard cash to its members!
