@struth Blaenau Ffestiniog is a nice place if you can ever take the grandkids. Apart from the hydropower station there is the slatemines and a zipline. Llandudno is great to visit. Snowdonia has the largest hydropower which as you say would be interesting to see. Apart from all the other atractions it is also home to velocity 2 the worlds fastest zip line 100mph but we will say no more on that lol
I been down inside the hydro electric power station at Llanberis many years ago now with my dad as he company had skips down there. you hardly know it’s there as well.
Amazing driving down and down and down. What amazes me is how it’s only mainly used at peak times as it can be turned off and on quick unlike other methods of electricity creation. Also energy created is used to pump the water back to the top as well. I uesd to live in bangor as a kid my mum was in charge of all the food at the University and we actually lived on site.
