We used to drive to London and back. 250 miles in total. Used to cost around £25-30 in our Skoda Octavia pre covid at 50mpg+. Now in our Tucson @ 35mpg, over £60. Many drivers have reached the “red line”.
I believe you may be right about the ‘red line’ being reached by many drivers. It’s worrying that disabled drivers and their carers may be restricted in their ability to get from A to B. The Government should look at giving blue badge holders and those with hidden disabilities a fuel VAT exemption. That would help considerably.
