Can I just add the update wasn’t put on to let’s say show off, more like a kick up the backside to get this paid out to carers throughout the UK..
I moved to Wales in 2003 and was amazed at not paying for my prescription and how the devolved nations differed. As for the £500 carers payment I’m hoping it will become yearly as Scotland do. After all regardless where we are in the UK carers save the state an awful lot of money and £500 a year would be short change compared to what it would cost the state if looked after by them.
