Thanks for your advice and thoughts.
We changed from British Gas some years ago to OVO – we are usually on a fixed tariff style contract – it ended in March and I wasn’t prepared to pay almost three times more for another fixed contract – so just on a day to day.
So easy to switch – I am a member of which and they seem to rate octopus. When we switched to OVO years ago which rated them, but over the years that have slid down the table – but it is the cheaper over night EV charging that made me consider change – I like your idea of running other heavy power devices during this period.
I have various apps for timing for CH radiator valves and lights etc – so similar smart plugs could be used for dishwasher etc.
So thanks – I will contact octopus next week and explore the possibility of switching – I also understand that charging on other public chargers can be linked to octopus account – useful for the occasional long journey I need to make ??
