As an enthusiastic cook who keeps his knives properly razor sharp I find that a tiny distraction when slicing stuff can lead to lots of claret going everywhere. Not as bad as yours, ajn, but still messy. I always keep a card of Sterri strips to hand (right above the slicing worktop!). Quick application of these can, I’m sure, help the wound healing and prevent a lot of messy red stuff entering the menu!
