Ordered a VW ID3 in early June. Got fed up of waiting and wrote to the branch manager. He called back today saying early December it could be built (original build date 4th October) and then 6-8 weeks to ship to UK.
My parents have no idea what to do. My mum’s hospital appointments are piling up and I’m not sure how long I can adjust my shifts at work to take her. One of her hospitals is 1.5 hours drive away.
The dealership said they can refund the deposit, but we have paid over £400 (re-wiring, new fuse etc.) to get the charger installed , so it makes sense to wait for the electric. No-one is going to refund that money for us.
In the good old days, you would get a car from the dealership to use in the interim for exceptional circumstances, but you wouldn’t get anything from our current dealership. Over 10 years ago, Audi very kindly did this for us.
I’m thinking along the lines of a short term (3-5 months) lease if such a thing exists, so at least my dad can take my mum to her appointments and get food shop done. Really struggling to find a solution.
