I don’t get why the volvo v60 estate cant be put on scheme as currently at £33,000 and as motorbility negotiate reductions even with a reasonable AP its doable. Not everyone wants or needs SUVs.The scheme lacks estates.
Paul – For a car to appear on the scheme, the lowest priced model has to be below arbitrary price caps set by Motability. The price caps relate to the list price of the car, not what Motability pay. As £33k is above the price cap, the V60 estate cannot appear, even though it would probably cost Motability £25k after the discounts that they would get. Daft, I know, but those are the rules and help explain why we have such restricted choice. The lack of choice of larger cars was identified in a review of Motability last year and a recommendation was made to improve the choice, but nothing has happened yet. Even the SUV’s that we are allowed are mostly small / compact ones, even though Motability laughably classify them as ‘large SUV’s’!
