In my experience, having worked in Banking and dealt with the UK tax system, in general the more “complex”the rules governing any scheme,the more open they are to manipulation. Why don’t the scheme controllers stipulate a maximum spend and within that we could have a discussion about things like u25s access plus max bhp etc.
The negotiators within Motability should be having a field day in their negotiations with the car dealerships and manufacturers at this time. They have a guaranteed income stream underwritten by the Government and the knowledge they represent the largest lease company with liquid assets the envy of every other lease company in the market.
Whilst I am in no way doubting the excellence of the scheme it really needs to be much more open with its rules and in the way it deals with us as its customers.
