If this is what happens then we’re going to need to share a lot more data on the finer specifications of the cars on the Scheme. For instance, boot size in litres is meaningless when you’re trying to see if your wheelchair will fit into it, only proper x,y,z dimensions will be enough without having to visit dealer after dealer with the wheelchair to see if it fits. Then there’s the seats, what is comfortable for one person isn’t necessarily for another, & we won’t know this until we’ve used the car for a number of hours, so we’ll have to have extended test drives for most of the cars on the Scheme all the time to keep up.
Off the top of your head, I wonder if you know which adaptations can be fitted to which cars? I don’t, it’s bad enough getting the dealer to remember to get them fitted before delivery.
The idea of Motability is to allow those of us who would otherwise be unable to access private transport to access it, but this is looking like it’s going to be a full time job just testing each & every car that may or may not come on the Scheme.
