    If it fails you get prosecuted with offence code MS90 fail to notify of driver. A lot of Insurance companies treat this the same as a drink driving offence and refuse to insure. They consider this reflects the driver is dishonest.

    My wife and I both used the same car on the same road within an hour and when the NIP came I genuinely couldn’t work out from the photo which one of us it was. The MS90 was issued at court regardless. Insurance doubled and we had to change provider as my current insurer wouldn’t cover us.

    Remember if prosecuted you need to inform your insurer immediately so they could end your policy mid term costing even more.

    Also consider when I was prosecuted I was a cop with 20 years service and well versed in courts and the law.

    If they dont mess up the NIP then your taking a big risk appealing without some concrete evidence for your case.
